This week saw history in the making and the SMV studio at the heart of it all. For the first time in the history of MARVEL comics, Astonishing X-Men Cover #51 revealed the same-sex Marriage between Northstar and Kyle on their cover, which happened to be designed by our very own Marko Djurdjevic.

There is a lot of debate in America at the moment surrounding the rights (or lack there of) for same-sex couples to be married or not. So naturally, the press is going to be big and controversial with this. Rolling Stone Magazine lead the charge with the exclusive premier.

Just so we're clear:
SMV takes the firm and proud stance that if two people love each other (and want to willingly go through the hell of "marriage"), more power to them.

So whether that couple is a "He&He" or a "She&She" or a "She&He and a He&She", unless you want perfect strangers to start judging whether you can legally marry the one you hold dear, why don't you just FUCK OFF,  mind your own marriages and just let people be.

We're very proud of Marvel comics for going ahead with the romantic cover, Marko for capturing this moment as only he can, and we're proud to leave our two cents on this issues.

Congrats to the happy couple, here's hoping we get to do the cover where they start adopting!

We don't know where you live but in Berlin, it's DAMN HOT!! It's too hot to be working indoors and since you can't take Wacom's into the sun (we've tried, and failed), we're kind of out of options here... or are we!?

Let's take it to the roof!
SMV BBQ's are notorious for involving too much food, drink and subsequent antics unsuitable for, even our blog. Here's a look at the stuff we can show you without getting charged for indecency (...again!).

Disclaimer: If you see something resembling a defaced watermelon, that may or may not have been done by an SMV team member. The jury's still deliberating on that one. Just sayin', don't judge.

Better late than never...

ImagineFX Magazine featured the SMV Studio in this month's issue. To get an inside look at our studio, work, likes and dislikes, and what we're looking for in new artists, the industry and ourselves, go grab yourselves a copy.

Have you ever noticed that when you throw Finnish people into the rain, they resemble wet kittens?
Us too.

P.S: Some of you might be tempted to pick up on a double entendre of a "potentially" sexual nature here... but that's only because you're obviously a pervert! Shame on you.

Man, French people are crazy!! Which is exactly why we're sooo happy to have one on our team.

Check out this beauty that Yohann just threw together. He makes it look so easy that we can never decide whether to love him or hate we do both. Either way, our relationship with OYO just got deeper.

Yohann, On t'aimeuh... Putain!

One of the biggest problems here is that we always have to wait for what feels like AGES to show you guys what we're working on. When the moment arrives however, it is always so damn sweet!

Check out what Jelena (our in-house "Super Woman") has been up to for Valiant Entertainment. She smacked these covers into submission without even breaking a sweat. The woman has it all: Beauty, Brains, Talent, Charm...that Bitch!

But don't worry, her (obvious) deal with the Devil can't last forever.

Today Marko decided to put down his pencil and paper (yes, he still uses pencil and paper!), quit his job and follow his true passion: Making the perfect sandwich!

Yes it's true. Marko is a Sandwich lover. Ok in truth, ALL of us here have an unhealthy obsession with sandwiches (or "Happiness Packages" as we like to call them). So, when Marko stood up from his desk and loudly proclaimed, "I'm making the studio sandwiches today!!", we just about cried. The man came back with three (THREE!) massive grocery bags of food and let the fury reign!

And since we're talking about Marko, you know he also art directed the shit outta those tasty little bundles of joy! There is one downside however, lunch today lasted a total of 47 seconds.

Look out for his new book: "The (Sandwich) Art of Marko Djurdjevic".

Hey Guys,

Remember a while back (April 19th, 2012 to be exact), we told you about Marko's exhibition at the Museum of European Culture and Ethnology? Well it's happened and it was fucking AWESOME!

We're super happy for our "Patron Saint" of SMV and have never been more proud... well, maybe except for the time that he beat those six, old-school, ex-Navy, German grandmas in a glass-eating contest during Octoberfest. That was also pretty impressive.

If you won't be in Berlin any time soon, check out the photos. But, if you have the chance, go and see it for yourself. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy!
