The name of the project is HOOD and we don't want to spoil the beans on what it is just yet, but we can announce that this is something our entire team has been working on in it's free time and there is more stuff to come as we unfold this secret in the next few weeks and months. SIXMOREVODKA TEAM GROWING LARGER

Our little studio has undergone some huge revamping. Not only did we reconstruct large parts of it, we added a bunch of artists too!

Joining us straight from Gameloft at our Headquaters in Berlin, comes Yohann Schepacz, french fury of environment art. Yohann's portfolio and attitude made him an instant hire and add on to the team. His skillset is an excellent asset to the expansion of our portfolio and we look forward to an exciting new year with him, sharing red wine, snails, frog legs, croissants and other eventual good times.

Hailing from Lithuania, Matjosh joins our team as a junior concept artist as well. Actually named Andrius Matijoshius and just bloody 22 years old he started his career with us as an intern and quickly rose to his junior position after only being with us for a very short time. His work ethic and his illustrations really clicked with our team and we're proud to see him grow up with us over the next year.

2011 is coming to a close and we're wrapping up our first year as an outsourcing studio. Time flies by and the last few months have been busy as hell for us. This year was incredibly successful for our team, in just a short period, we worked with over 20 new clients on more than 40 different projects collectively. We're excited to see some of our work come to life in the following years as releases start hitting the market stands. A big thanks to UBISOFT, ACTIVISION, EA, VISCERAL GAMES, AMA STUDIOS, CAPCOM, BEENOX, AVALANCHE STUDIOS, MARVEL, GUERILLA GAMES, WIDELOAD, DISNEY, HASBRO, KEEN GAMES, BLIZZARD, CITY INTERACTIVE etc., for your continued support and the great projects we were able to work on. 2012 looks even more exciting from this perspective.

Ville Kinnunen, concept artist for Bioware's Dragon Age is switching positions and joining our team in Berlin as a Senior Concept Artist come November 1st. We're incredibly excited to get such a high end professional to join our already existing power units.
Hailing from Finland Ville Kinnunen initially broke into the industry by designing characters for Funcom's Age Of Conan in Norway. Still a young lad at the time his brilliant character design skills started shining through when he breathed life into the costumes and armors of Conan and his many enemies. After Funcom, he took his skills to the next level working for Bioware in Edmonton, Canada, where he was tasked to embellish the Dragon Age universe and proved himself once more an invaluable team asset.
His next big step is our Studio in Berlin (the poor guy has to move such vast distances) where his character design abilities are going to be needed for SIXMOREVODKA's huge workload. Cheers to our newest team member and don't forget to check out his Portfolio at CG HUB.

Hey everyone, it's christmas time and it's also time to say good bye to two originals I did this year. They are huge, they're lovely and they're not doing much at our studio but catching dust. So, I figured there must be someone out there, who'd have more fun owning them than I do. The pieces themselves are gigantic, possibly the largest pencil drawings I made to date. Each of them is over 5 feet wide, and part of a series of Posters I did for Marvel this year. Some of you might have seen the final digital paintings that used these drawings as a base . I'd love for somebody to own them, who's going to treat them nicely and keep em for a few years. That's why I thought auctioning them off might be the best way for them to find an owner whose going to take care of them. No starting bid on these, just shipping costs.

We're hitting the streets of Berlin hard with our "DRAW OR DIE" movie posters. They're starting to pop up everywhere around the city this week, but we need your help to get the movie the exposure it deserves. So we decided to start the "DRAW OR DIE" CONTEST and give you the chance to help us spread the word about the movie. To participate in the Contest, just download the high resolution movie poster file and print it out on posters, flyers or newsprint and spread it in your home city, in cafe's, bars, your school/university or any other place you frequent.

This Contest is open to anybody who loves the movie and who's willing to help us. Once you're done with your guerilla bombing, don't forget to make photos and send them to us by OCTOBER 1st 2010!

Marko Djurdjevic, berlin based cover artist for MARVEL COMICS, celebrates what's been 4 years in the making. Plenty of his cover artwork will be exhibited for the first time on large scale at gallery BOX 32 in Berlin. Join us for this one time event in cooperation with SIXMOREVODKA on August 27th, at 7:00 pm!

Over the past 4 years, Marko Djurdjevic has become one of the major powerhouses of cover creation on the American Comic Market. Within a short period of time, Marko painted over 250 covers for every major series of MARVEL COMICS, introducing his unique design sensibilities and his modern storytelling skills to a medium of tradition. The RISE exhibition will feature a Best of, showcasing the most successful pieces as oversized prints for the first time in public.
Hailing from a background in Conceptart and classical Illustration, now merging his pencil techniques with digital painting, Marko Djurdjevic is one of the driving creative forces in the field of comic and entertainment design today. After spending a good chunk of his career in San Francisco, working at the esteemed Conceptart outsourcing studio Massive Black, he's now back in Berlin, from where he's juggling his operations across the globe.

Dear attendees, wait no more, we finally made a small map, that shows all of the most important location for MADE! No matter where you stay, the station you wanna focus at is ALEXANDERPLATZ, from there it's only a short walk over to the MADE venue. As a landmark: the building, where MADE is located has a big SHARP / AQUOS advertisement on top, and is just across the street from the PARK INN HOTEL. You really should have an easy walk over to made, with these directions.

Marvel's most prolific artist discusses his work on Steve Rogers as well as designing one killer Avengers spread

Even if you don't know Marko Djurdjevic, you know his work. Easily one of the dominant artistic forces at Marvel this past decade, Djurdjevic's painted work graces at least a dozen comic book covers every month. Add in character designs and the occasional interior art project and you have one busy guy.

A few weeks back Marvel unveiled two significant works by Djurdjevic. The first was a new look for Steve Rogers. The second was a magnificent 6-cover Avengers franchise spread. You've seen the art, but how did Djurdjevic go about crafting these powerful pieces? We chatted with him to find out.

It turns out Djurdjevic is even busier than he seems. He's in the process of putting together a series of seminars in Berlin, Germany, called the "Made Symposium." Professionals from the worlds of comic book and graphical design are gathering from June 17 to June 20, 2010 to teach aspiring artists about their craft and review portfolios. Seating is extremely limited, with less than 50 seats out of 200 still available. You can find plenty more information by heading to Djurdjevic's site: sixmorevodka.com/made. The artist is already considering bringing his classes to other parts of the globe, including the United States, in the future.

Kevin Mahadeo wrote a huge brilliant article for Marvel News where Marko Djurdjevic discusses organizing the upcoming first-ever Berlin artists symposium, uniting creators from all around the world.

"Like an apprentice without a master, Marko Djurdjevic never got a chance to learn the ways of the pencil from an experienced professional growing up. Instead, the then-fledgling artist taught himself everything he needed to know about drawing and creating. And although Djurdjevic's skill at shaping the page became inarguably remarkable, the artist still admits he regrets missing out on a chance to learn from some of the best. Thus, when asked to help organize the MADE Symposium-a joining of artists from around the world for a four-day creative extravaganza-the German-born creator jumped at the chance..

We're proud to announce that the amazing Concept artist ALEKSI BRICLOT joined us as an instructor for the MADE SYMPOSIUM.
The 31 year old Parisian citizen is working in different art fields for more than 10 years. He’s producing conceptart for videogames, illustrations and comic-book pages.
Aleksi worked on ColdFear, Splinter Cell Double Agent, from the hit series, on Haze and Dungeon Runners (Ncsoft) among others.
As for comicbooks, his early works were the comics adaptation of the videogame Alone in the Dark 4, then Spawn : Simony, a graphic novel for TMP - the best selling trade paper back in the US for May 2004. He had taken part in the Legends of the Round Table, a comicbook for the European market and another graphic novel Spawn : Architects of Fear (2010). He’s also a cover artist for Marvel on the Annihilation : Conquest saga, New Avengers and did illustrations linked to the movie Hulk2. He had painted the covers of the whole Hellgate : London mini series published by Dark Horse.
He co-founded and is art directing the video game studio Dontnod entertainment in Paris in 2008, currently developing an ambitious next-gen project. With fellow artist Jean-Sebastien Rossbach he is the painter behind the Merlin art book (written by Jean-Luc Istin), published by Soleil éditions.
He won a silver award in the fantastic art anthology Spectrum and he’s taking part in several international events like Magic: the Gathering tournaments. You can find samples of his artworks in several international art books and magazines and here.

HUGE AVENGERS POSTER

Last month I got commissioned by Marvel to do a huge poster featuring their new Avengers line-up and spanning across six connecting covers. I knew I'd fuck it up if I'd layout the thing completely digital, so I decided to draw the base on paper, scan it and then paint on top of it on the computer. First mistake I made was starting out without a thumbnail though, so I ended up fighting with the composition of the entire montage till the very end. What came next was a lot of nail biting and chewing, while I was trying to find some sort of harmonious color scheme for this beast. I scratched my head for a while till I asked my friend Coro about half way through if he had any helpful advice. He urged me to use a rainbow color layer so the viewers eye could move from hue to hue instead of being overwhelmed by just a single color scheme. It worked instantly and I could finally complete this monster. The original drawing was 6 feet wide and the PS file about 24000 pixels...glad I'm using a powerful machine to get stuff like this done. Also did a quick evolution of the image, so the steps could be understood a bit better...

NEW MARVEL COVERS

Back in January, I went through one of the toughest months ever. While we were finishing the new SIXMOREVODKA Studio, work was piling up right next to me. I had to paint 15 covers in a single month, which to this day keeps being my personal benchmark record for producing enormous amounts of work in ultra short periods of time. Marvel has just released the final slate of these covers and I can finally show them all at once. It makes sense to look at them as a bundle since most of them were worked on simultaneously, some with more, some with less attention paid on finalizing them. I still think they show a nice spectrum of experimentation and the possibilities which arise under such stressful situations. I'm not always happy with the outcome of each individual piece, but as a whole it makes me more comfortable to show them.

The set up is amazing, all the walls are movable and allow a new layout for whatever purpose there is. The light system is entirely unique and can instantly change into any color, hue and temperature allowing great atmospheric changes of mood throughout the entire space.
